LBN is planning to implement the Specialist Stop Smoking service in response to learnings from the Covid response. Newham has higher rates of smoking-related illness compared to the London average. There are higher mortality rates from COVID-19 among people with smoking-related illnesses (e.g. COPD and cardiovascular disease). There is, therefore, a clear need to enhance the Council's stop smoking offer as soon as possible for the remainder of 20-21 and all of 2021-22. This is the purpose of this procurement.
