Imported Food Sampling, Analysis and Reporting

Around half (by value) of all food consumed in the UK is imported. The FSA intends to carry out sampling, analysis and reporting of imported food products across the UK to help identify emerging food safety risks from imported foods. Tenders will be invited to carry out food commodity sampling, transportation of commodities to labs and physical analysis tests of specific imported food. The timeline for completion of this service is 31st March 2020. The work is expected to start February 2020 and the tender will be issued in early December 2020.
