The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has identified the need for improved long-term risk management of the load factor (LF) assumptions. The project will facilitate better understanding of technology learning rates in selected renewable technologies and hence allow better prediction the long-term cost reduction potential in the renewable sector. Specific outcomes will be improved predictions for load factors beyond 2020, which will enable identification of potential implications to policy.
