The Energy Centre has five boilers burning approximately 500,000 tonnes of domestic refuse per year in a continuous 24-hour operation, 7 days per week. The waste is delivered by road via the weighbridges/gate house by various types of transport. The waste is tipped and held in storage bunkers.
