Free cycle training has been offered to adults, young people and their families in Sheffield since 2004, as part of the City Council's commitment to get more people cycling, more safely, more often. Sheffield was one of the first cities to launch the Bikeability Cycle training scheme in 2007. This cycle training standard aims to equip people with the skills to negotiate Sheffield's increasingly busy roads.
