Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens combines an early example of a Greek Revival hall, with a Picturesque landscape incorporating the remains of a medieval Castle and Jacobean house. Situated 9 miles north-west of Newcastle airport, on one of the main roads to Scotland, Belsay came into state guardianship in 1980 having been in the ownership of the Middleton family since the 13th century.
