In May 2017 the government changed the way it funds apprenticeships in England. Some employers are required to contribute to the apprenticeship levy, and there have been changes to the funding for apprenticeship training for all employers. The levy applies to all large employers with a salary bill of over £3 million, the funding rules for levy-paying employers came in to force on 1st May 2017.
