Background -broader context The Planning Inspectorate's ability to anticipate and prepare for future change and uncertainty was identified as a strategic risk in 2020. We have since taken steps to improve our foresight capabilities, recruiting a Futures Lead, establishing a horizon scanning function and commissioning a scenario project on changing casework demand and future skills requirements.
